ABOUT US
Making a difference, diligently

Davidson School was founded in 1990 by Alice parents and teachers led by Nomawethu Makalima and Karen Hackmack with one purpose - to build a space for all students to grow, learn and create with each passing day. Through a unique teaching approach and a truly passionate staff, we help students develop academically and personally to the highest level.
Starting with a cohort of less than 50 learners, grades 1-3 and using a house donated by public works, the future of progressive primary education for the small university town established itself. Named after a former University of Fort Hare academic turned philanthropist Professor Davidson, the moto is inspired by his unwavering and pedantic work, pure diligence.
We invite you to explore our site and discover the academics and community Davidson School provides to each and every student. Get in touch with us today to schedule a tour, learn more about enrollment, or ask any other questions.
